The return to work continues to go well-ish. I did nearly fall asleep in a meeting yesterday. It was one of those late afternoon meetings, full of slumpish-ness and the 'meeting' consisted only of myself and one other person in a fairly airless room. It was so hard to disguise my heavy lids, and attempts to keeps my eyes open - I'm not convinced that I pulled it off. I had even taken a banana and a bottle of water with me, so that every time I felt my eyes closing I could force myself to have a drink or another bite of banana in a fairly desperate attempt to keep myself awake. I'm hoping that the other party to the meeting just thinks I have an unfortunate eye tick going on. So yes, return to work = exhausting.
Am very pleased that today is a day at home. (Serious tip for anyone else with a small baby who is planning a return to work: don't jump straight back into fulltime work - I would have crashed by now if I hadn't planned my first two weeks to be part-time). Next week is my first week of fulltime-ness: could be an interesting experience.
