Morgan and I joke that I'm the Managing Director of Inputs and he is the Managing Director of Outputs. The inputs bit is still relatively easy. Willa is fed exclusively with breastmilk - I just stick my boob in her mouth and she does the work. To manage outputs we first started with disposable nappies. They're easy but heck they fill up the rubbish bags quickly, and they're kinda spensy too. So we've started using modern cloth nappies. We were super-lucky to be gifted with a set of fancy cloth nappies (thanks sisters!).

These are Tiny Tuck-ins, a one-size-fits-most pocket nappy. (Inside this pretty nappy is a pocket that we stuff with a hemp insert and a microfibre insert, and they suck up the outputs). Not only are they pretty, but they do the job, and they're really easy to wash and dry. They dry fast because you take the hemp and microfibre inserts out, and wash/dry them separately - so it's not a big bulky thing to wash/dry. And even better, we're not filling our rubbish bag up with disposable nappies. They're adjustable too, so they should fit her until she's about 2-3 years old. And did I mention that they're pretty.
I've discovered that not only is there a culture of reusable cloth nappies, but also wipes and breast pads. Reusable, reusable, reusable. My Grandma would be so proud (though she'd probably make her cloth nappies out of old drapes, and stuff them with old towels and socks).

What awesome sisters! And seriously cute nappy... and babe.
Yay! I love my "MCN"s. What's been awesome is the support I've gotten from my parents and in-laws, they are happy to use them too. Plus think they are much better than the ones they had to use with us.
We mostly use prefolds and covers, but I have lovely pockets we use for overnights.
You are so right about your Grandma. I will tell you some time about her home-made (no, that's talking them up, there was no "made" about them) sanitary pads for us girls....
